GrandSecure
Grand Bank is proud to deliver the highest level of security for our Internet banking customers. We’re adding an additional layer of security to our login process called GrandSecure. This helps ensure that your information is secure, protecting you from fraud and identity theft.
GrandSecure verifies your identity in two ways. Every time you log in to Grand Banking Anytime, Grand Bank identifies you, and lets you identify Grand Bank using a private image and pass phrase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is GrandSecure?
A. GrandSecure is the multifactor authentication process for online bank access required by bank regulation to be in place by year end 2006.
Q. What is MultiFactor Authentication?
A. It is a layered authentication approach relying on two or more factors to establish the identity of the online banking customer.
Q. How does GrandSecure work?
A. GrandSecure uses two layers of authentication:
a. Something the user knows (user ID and Password)
b. Something the user has (a computer)
The product takes these two factors into consideration when determining the authenticity of the user.
Q. What is involved in activating GrandSecure?
A. GrandSecure is activated automatically the first time the customer logs in to online banking after the product has been activated by the bank. The customer follows the steps below to create their profile:
a. Log onto online banking (www.gbtx.com)
b. Enter user ID into the system (the system will then prompt them to complete the one-time enrollmentform).
c. Enter email address and confirm it.
d. Choose and answer 3 challenge questions.
e. The customer will receive a random default photograph, and must create a text phrase to accompany it.
f. Choose to register or not register the computer.
g. Registration is now complete and the customer is now able to access their account information.
After doing this, at the next sign-on to Grand Banking Anytime (Internet banking), the customer will be asked to enter their user ID. The system will then authenticate their user ID and computer ID. Doing this will properly identify the customer as authorized and access to the online bank will be permitted.
Q. What happens if the authentication fails?
A. If the user ID and computer ID do not authenticate, the user will be asked to answer a challenge question. If the user answers correctly, they will be asked if they would like to register the computer they are on now. If the user answers incorrectly, they will not be allowed access. If this occurs, the next time the valid user logs in, they will see an invalid picture and invalid text phrase to alert them of fraudulent activity.
